The Laundromat Campaign is a multifaceted, women-led campaign to transform the retail laundromat industry for the better.  Coin and card-operated laundromats have long flown under the radar of organizers and city representatives alike. They employ a minimum-wage workforce predominately of women of color. Through member-based participatory research, worker outreach, and member organizing, the Laundromat Campaign is exposing the working environment of New York City’s laundromats and organizing laundry workers to transform their conditions.
